Black Hills Energy is a subsidiary of Black Hills Corp, based in Rapid City, South Dakota. Black Hills Energy is an investor-owned utility that provides electricity and natural gas to middle and southeastern Colorado. Its electric service territory includes the cities of Pueblo, Canyon City, and Rocky Ford. Its natural gas service territories include the cities of Castle Rock, Fountain, Limon, and Burlington.

Black Hills Energy offers the following energy efficiency programs to its Colorado commercial customers:

  • Commercial Prescriptive Rebate Program: Rebates on Furnaces, water heaters, setback thermostats, cooking equipment, insulation, and other measures
  • Commercial Custom Rebate Program: Includes large boilers, process related equipment, ventilation control, windows, and boiler turbulators
  • Commercial Retro-Commissioning Program
  • Small Commercial Audits: For sites 25,000 square feet or less
  • Commercial New Construction and Major Renovations: Includes design assistance, rebates for the design team, and rebates for builders
  • Industrial Energy Efficiency Program: Includes design assistance
  • Natural Gas Demand-side Management
