Awards:
LONG has been honored by ENERGY STAR® for its work on the Regis
University campus and at the University of Colorado at Boulder Student
Recreation Center; the Association of General Contractors; and received
the 1997 Building Owners and Managers Association Building of the
Year Award and 2000 The Office Building of the Year Award for its
work at Qwest Tower in Denver.
Recent projects:
Recent Colorado projects of note include lighting retrofits,
HVAC upgrades, and remodels for various Gunnison County government
buildings; lighting retrofit, HVAC upgrade, and new chillers, boilers,
and domestic hot water heaters for Horizon High School in Thornton;
and a campus-wide lighting upgrade for various buildings on the
University of Colorado at Boulder campus.
Use of savings guarantees:
Savings guarantees are an integral part of LONG's performance
contracts. LONG provides comprehensive performance contracts
that allow building owners to implement energy efficiency
upgrades and pay for them through the energy savings that
result. LONG works with clients to identify and evaluate energy
efficiency opportunities, and then recommends a package of
integrated improvements. They often guarantee that savings will
meet or exceed the annual payments necessary to finance the
project costs over a typical contract term of 3 to 20 years. To
help assure the predicted savings, LONG provides technical,
maintenance, and operational training to building managers and
staff.
Financing options:
LONG will negotiate any available third-party financing options,
rates, and terms at no additional cost for the customer. In addition,
LONG collaborates with a variety of financing companies to draw
upon their expertise and offer its customers the best fit for their
financing needs. Financing options typically include tax-exempt
municipal lease-purchase options, where the installed equipment
is used as collateral on the loan, and tax-exempt financing is provided
at extremely competitive rates.
