Awards:
In both 1999 and 2001 JCI was recognized as ENERGY STAR® Partner
of the Year by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its
outstanding commitment to preventing pollution through the integration
of energy-efficient systems in numerous facilities throughout the
United States.
JCI is also the first company to receive the Level 1 Certified
Cleaner and Greenersm Seal from the Leonardo Academy,
a non-profit organization devoted to environmental improvement.
Recent projects:
Recent Colorado projects of note include a lighting retrofit,
irrigation controls, steam traps, and direct digital controls for
various buildings on the University of Southern Colorado campus;
and lighting retrofit and controls, chiller and cooling tower replacement,
solar hot water system, domestic hot water system scheduling, boiler
plant improvements, and energy management and controls upgrades
for various buildings on the Denver Federal Center Government Services
Administration campus.
Use of savings guarantees:
JCI offers customers a variety of savings guarantee options aimed
at improving the energy efficiency of buildings and facilities for
a low and predictable cost. Assured Performance Guarantees allow
customers to purchase self-funding - paid through the energy savings
- building improvements that lower energy and operating costs; Uptime
Guarantees provide building and power systems reliability; Plant
Services Guarantees enable customers to purchase central energy
plant outputs at a lower and predictable cost; and Comfort Services
Guarantees allow customers to purchase a conditioned environment
for a lower and predictable cost. JCI utilizes industry standard
protocols to predict and monitor energy savings, and assumes all
risk relating to predicted energy savings.
Financing options:
JCI works with the customers, the financing community, and its
own financing partners to design a financing plan to best meet a
customer's needs. Financing options available include tax-exempt
capital leases, tax-exempt operating leases, bonds, and certificates
of participation. Customers may also arrange for their own project
financing.
